Stacey Edzerza Fox, KC | Sāda

Stacey is a member of the Tahltan Nation. She is a legal advocate for Indigenous rights, with more than twenty years of experience working with and for First Nations to protect and advance the full enjoyment of their inherent, constitutional and human rights. Stacey is dedicated to achieving social and legal justice — and Indigenous cultural, social and economic well-being — through the revitalization and development of Indigenous laws, strong governance, strategic negotiations, and legislative and policy reform.

Stacey works with First Nations to develop effective approaches, tools and mechanisms for self-determination and self-government; government-to-government relations and decision-making; and, resource development and economic benefit agreements. This work includes addressing referral and regulatory processes, collaborating to align Crown laws and policy with international human rights standards, and collaborating to develop new approaches and mechanisms in support of legal pluralism.

In addition to her legal practice, Stacey is a member of her family governance structure that participates as one of ten families in the Tahltan Central Government, which supports the exercise of Tahltan title and rights in unceded Tahltan territory.
